My neighbors have an infant boy and a 3 y/o old girlr. Sharing a wall w/them, its easy to hear what is going on. here is frequent yelling. Music is loud enough to shake things on walls, which must be harmful to a babys hearing, and stressful. have smelled pot smoke wafting thru their open window. We had to call the police at 2am, when I heard a man yelling and swearing AT the baby to shut up. I then heard sounds of a physical fight, and yelling. Then a young woman, not the babies mother, was tossed out on the back porch holding the wailing baby in only a diaper. I called 911, not knowing if anyone in there was hurt, and also ran outside to the girl and baby. The man was yelling at her to go away, and get that baby away from him. She was crying and saying she had nowhere to go. I asked her if the baby was ok, and where the little girl was and if she was ok. I said I had called the police, who came and did nothing. the yelling went on. is there anything that can be done???

Call protective services/child services, whatever they call themselves in your area. No child should live in conditions like that. They can't speak for themselves so you're going to have to help them.

The police usually can't do a danged thing unless they see it first hand or the victim requests help. Call the appropriate authorities.

You know what your gut feelings are. Act on them and thank God you're there to intervene on their behalf. You're doing the right thing. Don't wait until it's too late and then wish that you had done something.

Look honey, I think we both know what needs to be done.
I applaud you for wanting to take action.
On the other hand, consider deeply the aftermath of the phone call you (need to) make.
Most likely a DFCS rep will come to the home and interview the guardians, and then follow up at a later date, unless the situation warrants taking the children immediately. If that happens, the children will be placed into temporary custody by the state until another relative or foster parent takes them. You won't make any friends with the people next door by doing this, so be prepared to get harassed. I encourage you not to let that stop you, because that is NO environment to be in when your an adult, much less a child.
Good luck to you, and do it!

I would suggest calling child protective services and telling them what s been going on this kids are just babies they dont need to be going through that its wrong and its neglect dont think of it as being a nosy neighbor you would actually be helping these kids get out of this environment they dont need to be in. Maybe the parents will smarten up but i doubt it.

call child protective services if you know of abuse or neglect. plain and simple. err on the side of the child. you could advise the woman of woman care shelters, and perhaps you should, but there is no guarantee the woman is any more innocent then the guy. the child IS innocent. protect the children, basic biological law.

Yeah, you should call child svcs. When ever they receive a citizen complaint they have to come and do a home inspection. The police don't always contact them unless abuse/neglect is obvious.

I'm really not sure. The best thing I can tell you to do is call the child protective services, tell them what's going on, and let them decide.

call cps. these fools don't need children. and I don't even feel sorry for the chick that's getting her azz handed to her. she should know better and get her child away from that situation.

Call CPS, you would never forgive yourself if you didn't and something happened to those poor innocent children
