Because we know that there is no such thing as a good person. If we thought we were good people we would be guilty of another sin. Self righteousness.
So why is it that Christians who truly know Jesus are going to enter heaven and others are not?
Because we rely on God's goodness not our own that would be arrogant of us to rely on our goodness to get us into heaven.
We are not saved by our own works but by God's grace.
Christians accepted a free gift given to us. Jesus Christ.
That simple God offered us a gift by his grace and we accepted simple as that.
Why are so many people so resistant towards receiving free gifts these days? Especially gifts that will decide their eternity?

Because we follow Jesus example, He came to serve and not to be served! He gave the ultimate for everyone.

Our culture is under the impression that nothing is ever truly free. There are always strings attached, there's always fine print. And if you wish to go deeper than that, it's just as simple that people have no desire to hear of God or of eternity. They can't or won't believe that at sometime they will be responsible for their actions. And it is truly saddening to see such loss in our world, but thats what God has put us here for, is to reach out and show His love to others. That's the best we can do.

Not everyone will hear His words. God's children will Hear His word and comes to us when He calls. Not all Christians are Christians by birth; however, when we hear His word we know it's time and come. Kind of like when you're a kid playing outside and your parent calls you for dinner; you don't hesistate you just tell them 'I gotta go'.

it has been put into christians for thousands of years. but i do agree with you. and now many christians take the bible way too seriously. thank you for speaking the mind of so many. and if you look at it in a logical stand point there is magic in the bible so are the christians saying that magic is evil? again you are right, even i don't understand.
