Good question. I like to take a long hot shower. Sometimes a hot bath, though I have only taken one bath in about 5 years. Does seem to work though. Really relaxing. I also journal. Find that comforting. Petting the cats helps reduce stress. I said it was a good question because I knew I'd find it very difficult to answer. Sometimes when a person can't think of an answer of the top of his head he'll say that. Made me think a bit.

For one, I look at my "funny stuff" book. It's a book I keep where I write a really funny joke when I hear it, or a reference to a really funny show that I saw on TV, or something really funny that happened at work, or whatever. I really treasure my sense of humor, and humor in general, so when I'm having trouble finding the humor at a particular point in my life, I will look at the book and it will remind me.

Also, I listen to music that speaks to me in some way. I can usually start with sad or angry songs, and little by little, song by song I can work my way up to "Shiny Happy People" and I'm dancing around the living room :)

I also pray....turn it over to God. It's a huge weight lifted.

Sometimes its good to let off steam but not in any ways that can get you tossed in jail. I like to go running or maybe punch a punching bag. Just let the anger pass, and later once you're level headed again, try to reason out everything.

Go out an exercise, it is a proven way to overcome stress as well as other emotional duress.
Then find the mother----- that stressed you out and beat them with a heavy piece of rusty metal.
Amen.......

Depends on the season ( summer, fall, winter or spring)
Summer - nothing - to hot to get mad!
Fall & spring - work it out in my garden. Weeding, trimming trees,
cutting grass, cleaning out the shed, etc.
Winter - keep shoveling snow - even if there is no snow.
I just have to sweat it out (physically).
After all that work-out I am to tired to worry about anything.

Go out and enjoy some nature and fresh air. And not think about anything besides how good that breeze and sunshine feels.

Watch TV and escape into someone else's life....lol... and forget about it even if its just for a little while. Or pray for direction.
