How long can bakery goods such as cinnamon rolls, cookies, and donuts made by a grocer's bakery last? I am asking this because I've been wondering how long these foods are good till they expire since most places like Albertson's, Ralphs (Kroger) and Stater Bros label their baked goods only with a "Sell By" date and not a date of expiration.
That and since I am a college student on a budget I would rather buy a 99-cent tray of 8 cinnamon rolls that have a Sell By date of that same day (reduced price for quick sale) than pay 3 dollars for the same tray with a sell by date that is in 2-3 days

I am looking for estimates of with and without refridgeration since i live in a dorm so there is limited space in my tiny mini-fridge.

Thank you

if you bought branded baked good, meaning it contribute to the store from whole sale company like wonder bread, it stays forever, for they used so much preservatives. I stay away from them. If you bought fresh baked good, it'll spoiled anywhere from three to seven days. high temp, humidity, is the key roll.
However, the good news is, almost all baked goods are freezable. Buy how much you want, opened it, and wrapped in individual or a serving portion in plastic , aluminum, food wrapper, or waxed paper. throw them in big zipped lock bag and store them in freezer. you can take out what you want and let it stand in room temperature for an hour or two, or heat it up in microwave for 15 to 30 seconds.
Keep the air out from the back and it will stay good several months to a year. (people usually keep their top wedding cake for their first anniversary)
Hope you have a freezer.

Buy what you want at the price you want. Stores will not sell something that will make you sick. Place an apple slice in a paper bag with stale bread and it will soften up a bit. Or, wrap it in a damp paper towel and nuke it for about ten seconds.

It will last till it goes hard or moldy. Make sure you don't expose it to air or it will harden faster. Put them in plastic tuperware containers. As long as there is no mold it's good to eat. I eat bakery stuff even if it's slightly hard.
