I have. You meet the same people on the net that you meet at the mall, bar or at work (Where do you think that all of us Internet people come from?).

Send some e-mail back and forth first to get a sense of what the other person is like. The first couple of times that you meet, meet in a public place and drive there yourself, so that you can leave anytime you want, and he doesn't know where you live.

I have met quite a few actually. I usually meet them in person after about a week of chatting with them on the internet (if they want to of course). I know, it's sad. I should probably wait longer but sometimes you just know when it's right. I met my boyfriend on the internet 8 months ago and we are very happy together. Everybody already gave you the basics about meeting someone from the internet. Meet in a public place, bring a friend etc... However, if you trust the person then you shouldn't need to. There aren't as many sickos out there as the media wants us to believe.

Oh yeah, don't meet anybody over the internet unless you are an adult. All of these little girl meet men three times older than them and next thing you know there is a story about them on America's Most Wanted. Just use common sense and you'll be fine.

I have when I was a bit younger but meeting someone off of the net can be dangerous.
To make sure these guys were my age and really were what they say, they had to have pictures. And, I would ask them to do a certain type of picture so I could be sure they didn't steal them.
Also, to be on the extra safe side, I always brought a friend along and meetings were always during the daytime and in a public place (the mall).

I've met a fellow poet on the net. He invited me to his family's church. I drove over and attended, met the whole family. We've become friends. I may meet others in our online poetry network, at allpoetry.

Meeting at a public place helps. Also, bring a few able friends with you, in case something goes wrong. Someone could stay back, within sight, with a cell phone and binos Don't ever let some stranger know your street adress or work location.

I think it's an excellent idea and provided you're careful can work very well. Just make sure that if you are arranging to meet them, meet up in a public place. Did you have a site in mind? I'm registered with a quirky site called Uniform Dating which is full of dishy firemen and doctors. Good luck. Most sites will have hints & tips on them - make sure the site you register with does have this.

I did a few months ago, I just randomly got on a train and met him there lol. I had been speaking to him via msn for almost 3 years. I had seen him on his webcam and visa versa too. So I knew he wasn't some middle aged guy posing as a younger one. Just make sure you know that they aren't pretending to be someone they aren't. Meet in a public place. And if you want, take a friend with you.

i met a girl off the net purely for sex. i really don`t advize it though. she was a bit of a nutter. if u do meet someone make sure it`s in a very public place that is very busy and either bring a friend wiv u to keep close by or at least tell someone where ur meeting them and at wot time and set urself a time wen ur going to be home. make sure u have a mobile wiv u too and get someone to ring it at a certain time. u can`t be too sure wot this persons going to be like. trust me. the girl i met seemed fine online but the reality was very different. please be very careful

I've not really but i would like to meet someone though. i think one has to be careful when they plan to meet up the whoever they meet on the net. Just like what the other lady has just said, you have to bring someone with you so that you can be on the safe side. Pictures and something like that can help. take care.......
