I don't really think your dog will have any problem because in other countries, dog eat chicken drumsticks too and probably other things like fish so i don' think your dog will have a big problem or small, i guess.

Even if he didn't start choking the second he swallowed them, you should still take him to the vet because some of the pieces of he bone can be sharp and can cut or splinter the digestive system. This happening isn't very probable, though, so don't worry too much about it. Get him an x-ray and get trash can lids that he won't be able to open for the future. As long as he's under the vet's care he'll surely turn out ok. Good luck!! :)

I agree with Elaine F, I hate to say it but this too will pass, keep and eye on him, note the day, watch that his stool are normal, I know there is a lot of hype on chicken bones, but do not be that concerned. If you are concerned give your vet a call in the morning and ask them what they think. Generally, they can answer a question like this over the phone. I have a guinea pig rescue and I have a problem every other day, I am constantly calling them, they answered my question when I started out doing this and will still do it five years later.

Hopefully your doggy will be ok. The problem with chicken bones is they have splinters that can get stuck somewhere along in you dogs digestive system. Maybe just a call to the vet and ask them what they think. I'm sure everything will be ok. Make sure you keep a close eye on your dog and make sure he does have a proper bowel movement in the next day or so.

My dog once got into someones trash can and ate a whole box of KFC chicken bones! He was obviously in a lot of pain and all bloated, but the vet said that the best thing to do was wait and see if he passed it. She said that pumping his stomach was too risky b/c it could cut his throat. After a long night of worrying, he did pass it and was fine. that's probably your best bet, but maybe a visit to the vet would be the safest bet. Hope your puppy's okay!

Chicken bones can kill a dog. You need to call you vet as soon as possible to see what the vet says i lost a dog to chickens he used to kill them and eat them. And I took him to the vet but there was nuttin they could do cause they had splintered in side of him and made him bleed from the end side. KEEP A CLOSE WATCH ON YOUR DOG LIKE WHEN HE OR SHE GOES TO THE BATHROOM CHECK FOR BLOOD. AND THEY WILL NOT WANT TO EAT OR DRINK IF THERE IS SOMETHING REALLY WRONG.

Make sure the dog has little excercise in the next 24 hours or until he goes to the bathroom. The less excercise it has, the better his digestive tract can work and the less chance the bones will give it trouble.

I would call your vet or emergency vet. Most likely, they will tell you to feed your dog bread. They will tell you how much depending on his size. Sounds crazy, but there is little else you can do. The theory behind it is the bread may "pack around" the bones to help them get through without problems. It may or may not help.
DO NOT do this without consulting with your vet first.

If its a done deal there's nothing to be done. The reason you dont feed dogs checken bones is that they splinter and can choke your dog. It happens, keep an eye on him and if you see anything abnormal take him to your local vet or emergency clinic and try to keep dem bones out of the trash.
