No! I facilitate a Hep c support group and have been active in our organization for 6 years. Several people who have done the treatment have had no side effects, but the majority of people who are on treatment have some sides. I did the treatment 6 years ago and had nausea and fatigue as the most prevalent side effects, however, I did NOT drink water like I was supposed to (water really helps you to have fewer side effects) plus I was on the old version of the interferon which had harsher side effects. My hair did not fall out, and I still worked (I am a special ed Pre K teacher- I had 12 kids in my class with disabilities-not an easy job!). My point is you can manage the treatment and still do what you have to do. Treatment is temporary- the long term effects of being a responder is well worth it. I have been cleared of hep c since Nov. 2000. I don't have the fatigue that dogged me for 10 years prior to being diagnosed. Surround yourself with supportive people, keep a good attitude about treatment, and you will get through it. Life is good. Best wishes to you.
