Is XGA and VGA the same thing?

Will I be able to connect a carputer with the XGA monitor?

You'll most likely want a touchscreen monitor.

I would love to hear what you have for an OS. I have WIndows XP Pro under 500 Mb and on a USB drive. Even your MP3's should be on a USB drive.

You don't want a hard drive at all. No moving parts to crash.
