I am going to the Philippines to meet a Filipina & am planning to buy her a Hawaiian dress & a necklace. Will she like it? I am going for a whole week in April 2007.

Are you meeting her for the first time? Is it something she wants? If you are meeting her for the first time, and if it is not something she stated that she wants, I wouldn't suggest it. It may make her feel a bit uncomfortable at first...especially if it's too small!

Relax. She'll like anything you give her.
But if you really want to make her happy, wait till you get there and give her a shopping spree. Go shopping with her. And with the current exchange rate, she'll be able to buy half the store with the money you'd spend on the dress and necklace.

Anything you actually put some thought into will be great. I would love a present that actually showed the person thought about me and cared about what I liked.

How well do you know her? If its someone that you don't know that well I'm guessing you really don't know her sizes or her taste in fashion items.
If you know her fairly well then I would think you have some idea already on if she would like them. There has to be something that made you think about getting her those items. Trust your gut instinct.

I know I would love it, especially if my boyfriend got one that was especially made for me and if the necklace and dress matched (ohh I'm using my boyfriends account... I'm actually a girl)

why dont you just take her flowers since you have never met her before, if i met a guy for the first time and he bought me a dress, it would freak me out.

filipina women like anything....they'll also be nice and sweet until you marry them and they get a greencard....then they will dump you....be careful.
