Custard is not something you put ON pudding, whereas mayo is added to a sandwich to enhance the flavor.

Custard, in all practical senses, is a pudding. The 2 are alike.

Mayo and sandwiches compliment each other. Custard and pudding do not.

Are you from Britain? Then you could say this. Custards are definitely very good desserts, maybe even the best. Likewise, mayo is very good on sammies.

*In some countries, such as Great Britain, "pudding" is another word for "dessert"

Absolutely, definitely, without a shadow of a doubt! What good is a pudding without custard? (Unless we're talking ice cream of similar of course - not so great on that!)
