Ok, so as some of you theists were ready to reason with me, I thought I'd take this discussion forward. Let's hope something comes out of it-

1- You say God gave us free will, hence the chaos. Fair enough. My question to you theists is-- Why did God give us free will if he knew that his plan will backfire and innocents will be killed.

God is omniscient, right? How come he didn't know that his children will burn their playground.

He could have just foreseen it and changed it.

Any answers?

People pray as a way to relief stress and things they can not control. Many do not believe in any "god" no rain god, thunder god, sun god, or god of man for that matter, but if it helps those suffering to think their is one, then it's a good thing Right?

God did know we'd screw up. God gave us free will bc He wanted a real relationship with us. If we didn't have it, we'd be like robots programmed to say "I love you" all day long. It doesn't mean anything unless you can say "I don't love you." Then when we follow God, it means something.

As for why God gave us free will knowing we'd sin, I have no idea. I still haven't figured that out, since personally, I'd have wiped out Adam and Eve the moment they sinned.

You assume that bc God knows the future He can change it, I'm not sure that's an accurate description of His role. God doesn't make decisions for us. God does know the future, He can move forward in time and see what will happen, but He often does so without influencing anyone one way or another, and either way, we have the choice. He leaves it up to us. Could He influence it? Sure, but it seems He often chooses not to. Why? I don't know.

These questions are really asking about the mind of God, and that's something no person can completely understand.

Personally, I've thought about this issue of God's omniscience and omnipotence and how it all fits with free will, and I'm sure the solution I have in my mind is wrong, but it's the best I understand right now.

Btw, I think our lives are mapped out like a line that branches at every choice, and each new branch is a possible choice we could make. God knows the results of all these choices, but He doesn't have to influence our decision itself. God is above time, too, so He can move forward in time and see what we'll do without having to influence the decision itself. So He knows everything, but we have free will. Again, I doubt this is a perfect image of how it's worked out, but it's the best I have for now.

Most of the time I think exactly like you....

I believe that there is a manger for this universe, let's call him "GOD" , well, there must be someone there who controls at least the system, but I believe that he dose not interfere, he is just watching what is going on..

I believe that religions and profits, is just a family business, they all came from the same family and in the same area "Mid. east". Mid East is still till now the most retarded area in the world.. so how about 2000 years ago ??????

My dear friend, I will not talk much. Please watch the movie called "Oh God" then you will understand exactly what I mean..

Take care..

Yes.

C.S. Lewis said that the "problem of pain" is the atheist's most potent weapon. It leads to an impossible anachronism? Well, so it is claimed.

The Calvinist and Lutheran would say that God allowed man to have freewill so that he would fall from grace. I remember reading where Luther said that in his writing on freewill. I think they both got this sort of teaching from Augustine of Hippo and Jerome. I just don't see it that way.

My view would probably be classified as Arminian:
God desired to parent two races: angel and human.
A parent doesn't want their children to love them because they have to but because they want to.
God did foresee bad choices.
God knew that many of both species would reject Him.
The outcome of spiritual warfare is determined by choices made.
God chose to not withhold allowing life because many would reject.
Life is a gift.
Choice is a gift.
The universe was created to be an extension of God's immediate Kingdom. Some nations do and have made extensions of their kingdoms in other locations. The same laws of the main nation apply to the extension of the nation. A system of enforcement is established by the one(s) placed in headship. If the ones placed in headship at the extension renounce the leader of the main kingdom or make certain choices, the covering of the main kingdom can be renounced and headship transferred to another.
God placed humankind in headship of the earth. The human became the government head, spiritual head, or should we say king? In this structure, God could over power the king of the extension of the nation but chooses to conform to covering (so to speak) of the one(s) who he placed in command. You might call this a law that He set into motion. This keeps God from being the type that forces Himself onto others. However, He will meet up with, partner with, and work within the requests made by those who have chosen to partner with Him. Abiding in His own established law, He won't overpower or push His way unless a human in right standing has asked. All the while, the all powerful and ageless one still has arms open wide.
This same pattern applies to the fallen one in a fashion. Satan had to trick and steal to be able to receive permission to operate within the extension of heaven, Earth. Because he stole authority and dominion from Adam, he has since had permission to operate in the universe at his own discretion.
This sort of thing is explained way better than I ever could in C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity and Miles Munroe's Rediscovering The Kingdom.
He made provisions all through history for humankind to be in fellowship or returned to fellowship.
Again, God knows the choices that will be made but still allows freedom. To me it would seem to be a lack of love to create robots or to restrict life based on the idea that the children will screw up. It would almost seem like Euthenasia.

If everybody was all lovey dovey with each other, in perfect harmony...well that sounds like heaven now doesn't it? What's the point of that? Adam and Eve remember? Life sucked after the forbidden fruit...God knew what would happen yes, but why make the world a perfect place with no sinners.. that would defeat the whole purpose of redemption, forgiveness, heaven, hell and so on.

evidence, not "evidence." "evidence" is for arithmetic. As on your meant evidence. one million. It was once now not witnessed with the help of way of one hundred,000 persons. There are basically some recorded comments approximately it, and that all of them tell a diverse tale. not information. 2. a narrative says they grew to grow to be a coronary heart and blood -- comments isn't evidence. And if present day-day technological understanding wide-unfold the claimed products of flesh, i'm going to guess you actual funds the DNA maps to center-a collectively as Italy, not first century Jerusalem. 3. greater comments...valueless. 4. maximum wide-unfold frauds, valueless. 5. Hallucinations are not evidence. i've got considered the video tape -- you are able to be a protracted way too gullible. 6. shown to be a center-a protracted time pretend. My factor is: you assume in view that that's what you love to do. You anticipate "miracles" the area none exist, you forget approximately approximately tips approximately them, and maximum of all you anticipate something you are able to't in my opinion clarify comes from a "god." in case you don't be attentive to the way in spite of happened, then you extremely don't be attentive to. changing "i don't be attentive to" with "a paranormal god did it" is rather silly, and thoroughly unsupportable. Peace.

If God were to intervene in all the worlds problems there would not be free will.
He gave us a Choice and told us the road to travel. if we do or not is not any ones fault but that person. Children until they are accountable are reflections of their Parents.

God gave us free will so that we could make a choice...between Him, and "self".

He wanted us to see Him for all that He is, and then to willingly chose to follow Him rather than make our own way through the world.

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!

Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!

Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?

My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:

Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...

Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...

Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?
