I think it should be. I hate looking at other people's feet.

They should ask you when entering your home if they can take off their shoes. Some people don't like to have their carpets walked upon with dirty germy shoes, and others don't mind if guests leave shoes on, it should be the decision of the person that lives in the home.

Perhaps. It depends on the person. If a stranger came into my home with bare feet, I would probably frown upon that. It just would seem unacceptable. However, if my best friend came in with no shoes or socks on, I'd be fine.

Also, with each household, there are different rules. In my house, I have wood floors so I don't leave my shoes on in the house and tell other people not to wear their shoes indoors (although socks are a must!) It all depends on the person and the household's rules.

Some people keep their houses so clean they want/need their guests to take off their shoes. If you hate looking at other people's feet, then don't look. You should be so busy talking to them that you won't have the time to look at their feet.

It depends on how well you know the person. Once I was at a church meeting at someone house and this lady put her bare feet up on the hostess couch. I thought that was so rude!

In most homes I've been in it is considered polite to take your shoes off; socks or not. Taboo? No! Try not looking.

Well then, don't let people run barefoot in your house. Just leave the rest of us alone and don't bother us with your "taboo" bullsh!t.
