4(x-3) + 10x


does that equal or simplify to 14x -12. please help me. i need help in algebra so badly

what about this one 6 + 4 ( 3x + 5 ) - x

i got answer as

9x2 + 45. i think this might be wrong and does anyone know of a web site where u can find answers if they are correct. thanks for your help.

Yes, you've got it.
You can "expand" first part: 4(x-3) by multipying 4 times each of the other terms inside the parentheses. That gives you
4*x + 4*(-3) +10x.
4 times negative three is negative twelve so you have
4x - 12 + 10x
Then you can combine the 4x and the 10x to get 14x
S you have 14x - 12

4x - 12 + 10x
= 14x - 12 or 2(7x - 6)

Oh I know how it is. I totally suck at math too. Try googling math or go to sparknotes.com and there are some practice lessons and quizes you can do. I have to have it explained to me in like 2 year old words, but eventually you'll get it. The more practice the better you'll get. And yea you got it right.

It is simplified to14x-12

Yeah, you distribute and have 4x-12+10x

Then you add like terms and end up with 14x-12

So you were right.
