Contact Social Services. If you are on a low income you should receive support.

What state do you live in?

I work for a social agency that could help if you live in Ohio.

If not, the best thing to do is contact your power company and arrange a payment arrangement.

Secondly you can have your physician fax a letter to the utility stating shutoff would be detrimental medically to a member of the household. This could buy you a 30 day hold on your shutoff. You would have to do that immediately.

Different utilities have different rules based upon whatever agreement they have with your states public utility's commission.

If I was you I would contact Department of Family Services and Welfare, or a church organization. If none of that works, contact the power company and tell them your situation. You may be able to work out some kind of payment plan to repay them in the future.

Good Luck

Contact a local church. My sister used to do that when she needed diapers and such. It is very humbling but sometimes you just have to let your pride go. My family has been through some hard times and I will say a prayer for you.

My sister was in the same situation. write a letter to local churches. she did and they paid her whole light bill. Write to 3 area churches tell them when the lights are getting cut off. and get a extension they usually do that. explain your situation. social services also help. good luck

Social services is there for everyone !! You obviously aren't doing your homework !!

We all wake up with decisions to make every day... If the decisions YOU are making are not working for you then YOU need make some changes !!! No one can run your life, YOU have to.

Now pull your butt out of the hole you dug for yourself and shoe your kids that you are better than that and that THEY CAN BE TOO!
