When I was 15 I was raped by my teacher and ever since then I have had the worst phobia of schools and school environments. I have been so afraid of them that I still have not obtained a high school diploma or equivalent. Other than those exspensive online classes does anyone know of any other ways to get one with out having the anixety of "going back to school".

Hi! I am really sorry for what happened to you. I understand how you are afraid of going back to school, its quite normal with human beings. I can tell you a way through which you will start enjoying in your school. Talk to any of your friend/friends regarding their experience in their school. They will tell you about the fantastic experience in school. Ofcourse they are lot of nice experience in school as well. Perhaps you can also go and make a trip to any school in your neighborhood area to check out the environment. The bottomline is, you need to change the picture which you have made in your mind because school is a great experience in one's life and I am sure once you have gone over from your past, you will come to know it. Best of luck!!!:)

Wow- I'm so sorry that happened to you. There are some places that have GED classes like at a community center or like a public use building so you don't have to go into a school. Some colleges offer GED classes there too and you can ask one of your friends or family members that you trust to just go with you. You should see a doctor and get some advice too.

i would talk to some one about your rape if you havent already. If you were to talk to a rape counselor or a therapist they could help u get over the rape and ur phobia too. For now though take online courses tht you can do at home, or if u could do a correspondence course so u never actually have to set foot in the school that may work too.

I feel extremely sorry for you. But I think its you who can console and councel yourself... It was just a bad incident which has nothing to do with school. Hope you can get over and help yourself. Good luck!
