And how can you tell if a woman is lesbian or bi? I don't want to come onto someone if they're not interested, especially if I have daily contact with the person. It could be awkward. Any suggestions?

Do you work with this woman, or do you see her in a social setting? If it is outside of work, casually work mention a gay club or event that you know of, ask if she's ever been, and see how she reacts. If her reaction is negative, then you can presume she may not be into the idea. Otherwise, keep asking more probative questions (basically, FLIRT with her) until you simply ask her out!

If you work with this woman, your interest in her could easily be construed as sexual harassment. Use caution, but the same tactics above can also be employed. Just be aware that your continued unwanted attention could get you into some hot water at the workplace.

Oh... I didn't inquire as to whether you were openly gay or bi. If you are and this woman knows it, it's considerably easier for you to approach the whole topic. Just remember that "no means no" and you'll be set.

well your not going to know immediately whether are not she's gay like you would a man, they go up to each other and have sex 2 min later. women are more subtle and gentle about their ways of approaching another women if they get the feeling that you are gay then you two will probably know each other is and take off from there.
