The days until the egg vary on when the parents begin incubation. I have had breed zebra finches before, and once the parents begin sitting on the eggs they hatch between 12-15 days. Below is a list of the number of days for different breeds of finches.

Zebra - 13 days
Gouldian - 15 days
Java - 14 days
Orange Cheek Waxbill - 12 days
Red-Cheeks Cordon Blue - 12 days
Red-Eared Waxbill - 12 days
Society (Bengalese) - 12 days
Tri-Colored Nun - 12 days
Paradise Whydah - 14 days
Orange Weaver - 14 days
Blue-Headed Parrot Finch - 14 days
Green Singer - 14 days
The female will lay 1-6 eggs, and begin incubation. The eggs wil be laid one a day. Then, the eggs will hatch in the order they are laid. The male and female should both take turns sitting on the eggs. While one incubates, the other will eat, bathe, drink, and groom. If you are not sure if the eggs are fertile ( have a baby inside) you can "candle" the eggs. Candling is for more experienced people though. If you don't feel comfortable candling them then just watch the calendar. If you do want to you can hold a pen light, or flash light behind the egg while grasping it firmly but not hard enough to break it. If there is a baby you should see tiny blood vessles and a darker area. This area will slowly grow. It is the baby. Candling should be done after 3 days of the egg being laid. If you would like to know if it is fertile, but don't want to candle it, jsut observe the colors of the egg shell. After about a week, it should turn gray. This is a sign there is an embryo growing inside. I hope you get to watch the wonderous miracle of baby finches grow into adults.

How long does it take for my finch eggs to hatch?
This varies somewhat depending on the type of finch. Usually around 14 days of incubation, but a general range can span 12-18 days. Note that incubation does not begin until the parents start sitting, which frequently will not happen until the 3rd or 4th egg is laid, or sometimes the entire clutch.

It totally depends on your species of finch. It can range anywhere from 20 days to 28 days. What kind of finch do you have? I would like to try and help.
