I'd say about a 5. Russian has similar grammatical structure to English, doesn't really have any sounds that you don't already know how to make, and as languages go is fairly easy to learn with logical rules and not too many exceptions. That's SPOKEN Russian -- reading and writing is harder, since Cyrillic script uses lots of letters and symbols we never see or use in English.
Still, it's not as hard as written Japanese or Chinese to learn :)

That depends on how well you learned English.

Russian has a very complex grammatical structure. If you understood grammer in school, you'll probably be able to handle Russian grammar.

I'd say a 9 because it is possible, you just need to practice alot when not getting taught, my mom's friend's daughter, dropped out of her graduate's school Russian class, it was just too hard for her. And she was very, very smart.

A person with a high IQ could pick it up by just hearing it in a matter of months and be fluent. Somone with a low IQ will struggle.
