I am thinking of moving to Australia next summer with my two daughters. (we are American) will it be difficult to get visas etc. Also, I am a nurse here, will I be able to work in the healthcare industry there?

Hi,
Nurses are currently in high demand in Australia, so it shouldn't be too hard to get work. There is actually a special visa for doctors and nurses, so I don't think they would be difficult to get either.

Being a nurse will mean that you can work in our health care industry, but you will need to undergo a registration course, which could take three months - but at least you being a nurse means less visa problems.

Your two daughters are what I would be concerned about. Depending on their age and the state that you come from, they may have to stay back a year. This is because our education system work very differently, and your children are more likely to be placed in a class on their apptitude rather than their year level. For example, my little sister moved to New Jersey with my dad, and was pushed up 2 year levels, but had to take remedial history. The same type of thing can apply.

I'm also moving to Australia next summer. I have a wife and two kids and the migration process is not that complicated if your career is on demand. And it is.
Go to www.immi.gov.au and you'll see that. If you arrange your visa application with a migration expert, there'll be no problem at all. I've just finished my process and it lasted exactly one year. I'm from Venezuela. I paid 6.500 US$ for all of us.
You could contact the people of "Southern Cross Alliance" and they'll help you. If you want to do the process by yourself, it'll cost around 3.500 dollars, but it'll take longer.
