I think you misread my question, I'm gay myself.

Nope.

Let me be very straight (no pun intended) with you.

I was almost sexually harrassed by a homosexual christian minister. I punched his lights out and it felt good (he didn't file charges because I'd kick his @$$ if he did). I don't hate gay people but I won't allow your kind to put their pervy little hands on me.

nuf sed.

Notwithstanding the obvious elements like the question of whether there's anyone on the other end of the magic prayerphone that people use, homophobia and anti-gay thoughts should be rlatively easy to cure through prayer. After all, what prayer is at the very basic level is a statement that something is wrong and that you wish it were right.

So in this case, any prayer said would recognise the problem of homophobia, and describe a desire to change. Which surely in cases like this is half the battle?

The only flaw in this plan is that homophobia's like alcoholism - you can only make progress once you stand up and admit that you've got a problem. Once you get there, you're on the road to becoming a recovering homophobe...

No, praying can't cure, homophobia,pedophilia,
heterosexual or other types of activities.
Prayer just does not work as advertised.
Think of the medical implications, if prayer was
a reliable remedy or cure.
Can Jesus cure anti-gay thoughts? No !

The Bible Mark 15:34-35
And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calls Elias.

asking questions and recieveing answers can help...most people who are anti-something are that way because they dont know all the facts. prayer cures only if you are asking yourself the question and searching for the answer your self and not just expecting it to fall into your lap or pop into your head. Jesus quite possibly never even existed so i highly doubt he could cure anything.

Yes on both accounts. We need to love one another as he loved us. Which means to be willing to die for even those who would kill us. That's a lot of love. So to truely love Jesus is to love everyone.

Jesus never said to point out the faults of others. He repeatedly told us to only worry about our own faults and just love one another.

Trust in HIM!

No. You must learn to love people whatever state they are in. So you have to show love in action and deed because God loves them but he hates their Sin
so you must renew your mind and practice showing love to them and asked God to give you the wisdom to witness to them and pray that God will open their eyes so they can see their iniquity
