Heaven's No. Christians are not jealous and are not hung up about sex. They enjoy good healthy sex too, but they don't flaunt it and it is kept a very special gift and very personal. Why so many of us Christians reject the sex acts in so many ways nowdays, is because there is no Shame to many people nowdays. It is open, and many people have multiple partners and the reason we are down on what is going on , is because so many now act more like animals then humans. Why do you think there is so much sex transmitted disease's and abortions being done ? Children born out of wedlock and many of the parents move on and have sex with many other men/women. Pornography and orgies. Absolutely , no respect for their bodies and there is no shame. So don't go and make it seem like it is because of us , but it is because people who do not give a darned, is believing it is ok, to be loose stuff. Having sex is a Loving , private time for humans. Christians are very Loving people. We just don't flaunt it.

I think religious and non religious people can get hung up on sex. Try most sexual health clinics and you will find the majority are non- religious. Not judging anyone but there's an old adage you play with fire and you get burned. we've all gotten burned in one manner or another some of us hopefully learn from it. I realize this is a tough area for allot of people especially when our society continually sends mixed messages, but there is too big of a price to be payed. It's sad but I have noticed people aren't as glib when they catch some disease.

Hung up about sex? Not really, your so called religious people have impulses and sex drives of their own. Its just that they emphasize control of passion since it everything in the world is controlled by passion alone with out control, logic, and spirituality, then we would plunge into utter chaos. Secondly, religious do not say "don't have sex" they say "don't have sex when you are not yet merried" this is because the very laws and doctrines they follow have specified that as prerequisite to sex, one must be merried and thus having the oneness and totally surendered state to each other.

Because, sex is supposed to be love, not just sex. When sex is used in the proper context between a man and a woman who are married and committed to each other for life, it's boundaries are limitless and the results are to beautiful to describe. When people just go around having sex they destroy a part of themselves that they have a very difficult time putting back together again. With each and every new fling they create more baggage for themselves that make it increasingly difficult for them to ever have a successfull relationship. That's why we are hung up on it. It destroys lives over and over again, especially children, then the poor children begin being set up for failure in their relationships because they have seen their parents mess up.

Or maybe we respect our bodies and the ability to create life, and are saddened by society's lack of respect for sex?!! Perhaps if more people respected themselves and their own sexuality, there would be less divorce, abuse, rejection, neglect and heartache in the world. Sex is more than just a physical act, it's an emotional, spiritual connection, and should not be misused or disrespected.
Pre-Marital Sex, and sexual purity are mentioned in the Bible, for the person who thought they were not:
Exodus 20: 14 "Thou Shalt not Commit Adultry"
Leviticus 18:22 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind it is abomination"
Proverb 31: 10 "Who can find a virtous woman, for her price is far above rubies"
Matthew 5: 28 "whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath already commited adultry in his heart."
Galatians 5:16-19 "Now the works of the flesh are manifest which are these: adultury, fornication, uncleanness, lasciciousness."
Proverbs

I believe that non-religious people are hung up on sex because that's all they seem to talk about which only show that they aren't getting any. Religious people teach promiscuity and innocence but non-religious people live the life of sexual immorality and are pretty much whore mongers and perverts on a daily.

I don't think all religious people are hung up on sex but it does seem like alot of Christians are really preachy. It's because they say don't have sex before marriage even though I don't think it's in the Bible. I think alot of these preachy people are the type that couldn't get any even if they wanted it. They need to come up with better reasons for not having premartial sex besides Jesus doesn't want us to or better yet, you'll go to Hell.

Well. You might have a better understanding if you weren't so judgemental. First of, not all religious people are hung up about sex. In point of fact a lot of NON-relgious people are hung up about sex. Many of them were abused as children.
I'm a person of faith. I love my church. I'm certainly not hung up about sex. I've got no problem talking about it, being open about it.
Life is good.

It's an ancient tribal property Law.
When women were owned by men. The men didn't want other men fathering children from their property. Virginity was prised because it meant there was no first born other than his to claim inheritance.
This law has nothing to do with God. It's a male pride & ownership thing.
