When God said turn the other check he did not mean stand there and let someone beat on you, nor did he mean let someone take advantage of you. Remember, Jesus said, "I come not to change the law, but to fulfill it" It is hard to say where to draw the line, but you will have to do just that at some point. If I asked you for all your money or for you to jump off the top of a building would you do it? my two cents worth

turn the other cheek. but it can be taken literally as well as non-literally. i take it to mean that we should not fight back. and if someone asks us for something, we should technically give it to them. unless of course it's something bad, or wrong. i'm sure God understands this..however, because we are only human, people do not always do what God asks, so yeah...
anyways, i'm pretty sure that's accurate. please correct me if i'm wrong on something =)
