I loved Dogma, great movie. DaVinci Code book=good. DaVinci Code movie=Not what it should have been. I've never seen saved.

Some people are offended because it contradicts their faith. However, I think it opens up the line of communication to their religion. I saw one comment that these kinda of movies "make people think". How could this possibly be a bad thing? Its better to critically analyze what you believe in and be stronger from it than to accept on blind faith.

Just my two cents.

Dogma made me laugh and The DaVinci Code was a great book. Even though much of it was based on fact, they are both largely fiction. It is when people forget this that they show the world their idiocy. It was only when the Catholic Church banned The DaVinci Code that it became a world bestseller and made the movie a blockbuster. I also like movies and books like these because they give new ideas to a very old religion. I love the traditions of Christianity, but we do not know all that is out there regarding not only early Christians, but also Christian history. I believe that once you stop wanting to learn you become stupider and ignorant.

The good thing about the DaVinci Code was that it led to discussions about what was fact and what was fiction in the Christian faith among Christians and non-Christians. I'm not offended because I am not being forced to watch/read these formats of media and it's purely by choice if I do. So, no I'm not offended; and at times, even the things that could be offensive are helpful because those that know what's correct from what was made up in order to make something more entertaining can share what they know and believe with others that whose curiosity is provoked. Good question.

I think it's sad people will take one persons' word and buy it as fact. I think Saved is hilarious, it mirrors one of my friendships. It's a satire, a comedy. I've never seen Dogma. I don't want to. the Davinci Code was a good book, after finishing it I read other books (Christian and non) about the "facts" in the book. I came to my own conclusions, which is what Dan Brown seemed to want. If you don't want to read further into something, don't just buy into what others say. You can't make a valid point until you really look into things.

I guess you have to look at the purpose of the book or movie. Does it make fun of peoples beliefs or does it simply bring to lite questions concerning those beliefs. Dogma is a spoof on the catholic beliefs and though funny mildly offensive. DaVinci Code is simply interesting no matter how you look at it. I can see how some would be offended by it. I think that such offence comes from the simple fact that people ignore that though our Savior and King he was also Mortal. Since marriage is a Earthly Comandment. "Multiply and Replenish the Earth" and since"man can not be given in marriage in heaven" we have to assume that if Christ kept all the comandments he also was married. Lets be logical..

Some Christians are offended by the movie, some not.I'm not offended by either of them because it is a work of FICTION.What annoyed me though, was the disclaimer in the front of the DaVinci Code saying that a lot of the things in the book are the truth.
And yes,I have read the book.

DaVinci Code was more deceptive than offensive. The mixing of real events with fiction and presented in a factual way was meant to deceive.

I think people should write whatever they wish, but it bothers me when people choose to believe something about my faith (my God) that is simply false.

Dogma Saved I have not viewed.

I don't think it's offensive to Christians as much as it's offensive to History majors. Dan Brown is taking something and passing off as historical after being doctored to fulfill his purpose. I have an essay written by a close friend posted on Amazon.com reviewing the book from perspectives of Theology and History The DiVinci Code which is nothing more than laughable.

I've not seen those movies so I can't comment. I didn't find the DaVinci Code offensive...it was merely a fictional piece (although not very creative since all they did was twist truth a little).

hmmm ... I am offended by the DaVinci Code only because it caused issues and stirred up a lot of "what if" thoughts. I know several people who took it seriously not realizing that much of it is fiction. So sad that people could be so naive or so lost without the realization that God does in fact exist.
