Ok where to start

Select a good airport. I would recomende the following
KDTW
KATL
KLAX
KPHX.
Select the 737. Use 25% fuel in each trank. Now use the slew mode in flight simulator"y" and pull back on your joystick, Untill your about a good 7 miles from the runway.

Lower flaps down gradually. At 230 knots use up to Flaps 2 position. as you decrease speed use flaps 40.Use Autobrake at 2 or 3 Lower the gear and keep your Vertical speed at around 100-800 fpm(feet per minute) Arm speedbrake(/)key.

Let your airspeed come down to about 140 knots IAS(indicated airspeed) and pull up gently on the joystick to flare for contact.
Pratice this for a couple of times with the 737. When you'r ready to move on to bigger stuff mail me at

Flight simulator is not nearly as accurate a flying simulator as most people belive it to be. Therefore any landing you perform in any aircraft in the game will be far from realistic. In general the game is over sensitive with its controls as most people have no force feed back control device, let alone one that is remotly accurate. Flight simulator is really isn't 100% accurate in anything other than navigation equipment and methods. As far as landing, look up the landing configuration and speed in the kneebook which has all the critical V speeds and try to match this the best you can, also look for the PAPI or VASI on the side of the runway if equiped (this is a light system that tells you if you are making the correct approach angle). You want to have equal amounts red and white lights. All red is too low, all white is too high. It will seem like you are very low, but you are landing. If you are somehow actually able to match the landing speed with the crude flight controls and you are not comming in too high, you should be able to pull throttle just over the threshold and pitch the nose slightly above the runway. Do this very slightly as over rotation will cause you to balloon and then slam into the runway, not that you will see an accurate demonstration of how to land anyway. However, this should put you on the ground in the game.

Kind of a generic question but:

When you are decending, lower your flaps in accordance to the aircraft speed chart for flaps. Fly according to what ATC tells you to heading and alt. wise, set your nav radio to the ILS feq. for the runway you are landing at. Once cleared for a landing, llower flaps to full and put gear down. Your speed depends on the type of plane you are flying, I would say, 130 for 737, and about 150 for the 777 and 747 (correct me if I am wrong anyone, or if you have any difference in landing speed oppinion)

Once you are about 10FT off the runway, flare (Pitch your nose up) and kiss the runway.

have to disagree with you on the landing speed of the Boeing 737 nwafan20, anything i find that is below 140 KIAS (knots indicated airspeed) the airplane stalls out... and crashes... i usually use about 170 KIAS for landing with full flaps... as for the 747 and the 777 they both land fine with 175 KIAS (once again i find that they both stall at a certian speed that is below 175.. though i cant remember which speed)
