My girlfriend doesn't want to use the pill and we both dislike the infamous rubber. Is there another alternative?

Yeah, she doesn't want to use the pill or the shot because of the side effects. Thanks a lot for the reply, quite helpful :)

try abstinence because:
1. condoms take away the sensations
2. iud's give you serious infections and liver problems
3. pills & depo shots make you get fat
4. it was a recall on the patch because that sh*t don't work
5. foams are too messy and take too long to work
6. the female condom is very uncomfortable

I would say a shot or patch but i heard bad about the patch. I think that if you were really serious about not getting pregnant you would still use the rubber and BC. So good luck on trying to find something and hopefully along the way you dont get an unexpected pregnancy.

Personally, I'd recommend the IUD... DO NOT use the Patch.... I miscarried 3 times in 10 months with it. Also, if your girl wants to ever have babies, don't use the shots (depo) because that messes your body up so bad, that it will take years after being off for the body to go back to normal let alone having a baby.

There are many other options for birth control, including the patch, the depo shot, IUDs, diaphragms, sponges, nuvaring. You two could go to Planned Parenthood together and learn about all the options and the pros and cons of each one.

"The infamous rubber" is the only one that prevents the spread of STDs, though.

anal sex BUT
if ALL you are concerned about is pregnancy (you are whacked) but there are other methods out there. there is a contraceptive film that can be inserted prior to sex and dissolves inside but for each time you may need a new piece of film( my husband and I use it), the sponge can also be used for longer sessions and it does work fairly well. I would suggest she track her ovulation for several months so you both have a semi accurate time showing when she is most fertile and avoid vaginal sex on those few days. NOTHING is 100% but you can also talk to planned parenthood or even your local pharmacy for more options.

does she not want to take the pill because of what's in it? if that's the case, the patch, the ring and the shot are all out, because they contain the same stuff essentially.

it sounds really out of fashion, but i would reccomend a diaphram. you can't feel it, you can still be totally spontanious, and if you use the contreceptive gel with it, it's very reliable.

OF COURSE!!! You should tell her to go get an IUD. Its a small device they put in her and it stops the sperm from getting to the eggs. So therefore no babies. You dont even have to wear a condom. I have had mine for about a year and its the greatset thing ever! You can get them at her OB/GYN. Theyre kinda expensive if you dont have insurance. But you can also get them from your local Health Department very cheap. They go on your income. Good Luck!

Oh yea they dont hurt either. Cant even tell you have it

ask your gyn about an IUD
i tried that ring and it gave me horrible side effects, i woke up in the middle of the night every night with a migraine so bad that i could not move and then i would have to force myself out of bed because i felt as if i was going to throw up and after i threw up i felt fine but it happend almost every night

Abstinence is the only real way to protect yourselves from unwanted pregnancy and unwanted STDs.

I don't know how old you are, but be responsible. Think about your future not just tonight. If abstinence is out of the question, they do whatever it takes to protect you and her. That means wear a condom.
