I've heard of this disease that affects millions of americans, it usually happens when you see blood, syringes or surgeries?

It could be any number of debilitating diseases. I'm thinking on the lines of muscle atrophy diseases themselves. Examples of those are multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy. Any kind of neuro disease can cause a weakness.
Seeing blood, surgeries or syringes and then becoming weak is more like a fainting spell.

Fainting or weakness that occurs when someone sees blood, syringes, or other scary situations is known as a vaso-vagal response. It is not a "disease" per se but just an over active para-sympathetic system (part of the nervous system) that produces vasodilation and temporary hypotension. It can afflict pretty much anybody...so I suppose it does affect millions of Americans.
