That thing in your head is called doubt. I'm not a Christian, by the way, but I do know how doubt can be painful. I would imagine it's especially hard in matters of faith, when there isn't an easy reference to look up, you just have to keep believing.
But doubt is natural. In fact, it's the people who don't doubt, or at least refuse to admit doubt that are scary. No doubt leaves no room to grow, not in your faith or otherwise. Doubt's what encourages you to really explore how you feel and think about your beliefs. You challenge them, and see if they're wanting.
Plus, if God showed everyone in your place a sign, you wouldn't have to call it faith. You could say it's a test. You could also say there's no God. It's up to you to figure out on your own.

Remember that there won't be any easy answers, be wary of accepting what you'd prefer to believe, rate that on the same scale as the things you don't, and accept that the answer may not be the one you're looking for, otherwise you'll never find a satisfying answer.

The important thing to keep in mind is that you're not unusual or un-Christian for having these doubts. They afflict everyone, and it's part of the process.

Remember this?
Matthew 27:46 (New International Version)
46About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi,[a] lama sabachthani?"—which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"[b]
Anyway, you know how that story ended.

God is liable to show you a sign or communicate in some way, when you least expect it. Especially something heart felt, if you feeling compassion, and do something good, knowing that you may in some way be taking a chance, like a Sacrifice.

Pray often sincerely with compassion, Depending on what you pray for, sometimes God will not answer if your not ready, it takes time, many years of God building you for his purpose to do his will.

I been through a lot, God has done a lot for me, most of them times I didn't even realize it, until I was able to see the whole pictures. But the strongest was about eight years ago, when God intervene to me on a job site, when I had compassion in my heart for my Boss, and it was in the very moment of truth, I felt God's presence fall on me, it was a happy warm feeling, and I felt God say in my head," I am happy with you" I'll never forget it, God basically pat me on the back. And some day he would you too, he's there, trust him, that's what he wants, and pray to God, Jesus as much as you can, least once a day, the more prayers, the more a chance he would touch you in some way, God communicates in so many many ways, be open.

God bless

I completely understand. And what says that He's "ignoring" you? Maybe someone in your life is being used by God to encourage you or help you learn something new about Him. You may just not be realizing it. That's why it's really crucial to have fellowship with other believers in church, youth group, or a close group of friends that you have from church. The only thing I can really say will bring results is prayer, sharing this problem with others (the Bible says that we're to bear one another's burdens) so they can also pray for you in relation to your desire for stronger faith, and possibly a topical study on "faith." If you have a concordance, you could look up "faith" and do a small solo Bible study on what the Bible says about faith. That might help--to see what Christ has to say about it and what the apostles have to say about it. Hope this helps! And "faith is just believing what God says He will do."

Everyone has doubts from time to time. Evil feeds on your fears and doubts. Just relax and tell the thoughts to go away. Talk to god, not just in prayer, but when no one else is around just talk to him like a friend. Don't expect an answer at first, but as you make this a regular habit you will begin to feel his presence. Remember he is not ignoring you. Look at all the people that want his attention he can't pay attention to everyone all the time.

If you ever need someone to talk to you can email me though my info. Don't give up on yourself or god.

God is not ignoring you. We move, He does not. Act on your faith. Love others more than yourself. Not feeling loved does not mean we are not loved beyond measure.

Look at the stars at night. Read His promises.
He has given us so many signs. Just the fact that you yearn for Him is evidence, as only His spirit in us gives us the desire in our hearts.

It's not an accident we are urged to finish the race. It's tough but God even makes that possible. Read Revelations and Gods admonishment to the church at Laodecia. Don't be lukewarm.

This is going to sound strange - but don't ask for signs. Signs will naturally follow those that believe. Most of our prayers are going to be answered with feelings - feelings of peace, understanding, acknowledgment, clarity. Pay attention to those feelings and document them if you want a sign. Then you will be prepared for larger ones, which will come during different times of your life. If you are hoping for stronger answers, sometimes it helps to study scriptures a little longer every day, or try fasting for part of the day.

You must find out who God thru his word. Take everything that you read in the bible literally, furthermore you cannot learn this thing on your own. Lean not unto your own understanding. I hope that you find out the truth. Don't give up. try this www.theisraelofgod.com

God does not know those that do not know him, to know him you must keep his commandments. This is according to his word. All those words.............Think about it. ..........God is perfect.
Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding

Rom 10:17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Mat 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

You will be amazed how many athiests are out there.

I would be happy to talk to you. My grandpa was a pastor and I was raised in the church, so I have a lot of basic knowledge. As I have grown older, I have sought out the line between true faith and reliance on man-made, non-biblical traditions and beliefs. My friends all think of me as their therapist, I love talking to people abot various things. If you would like to chat and explore the recesses of your mind, then IM me at starsalso@yahoo.com

if you wanna check out what kind of person i am, you can visit my profile at www.myspace.com/rachelemonique

PS: its not necessarily God testing your faith. The closer we are to something good, the harder satan works to bring us down. Dont let him succeed in planting and watering the seed of doubt in your mind. When satan is attacking you, its a good sign you are on the right track. If you are on the wrong track, he would just leave you alone and allow you to continue to destroy your life and your faith. If you are doing well, he steps in and tries to break you down.
