What I mean is, which is the largest battle ever fought after a treaty to end the war was signed? Maybe the commanders didn't know a treaty had been reached, or whatever.

The most notable battle that was fought after a treaty was signed I know of was the Battle of New Orleans. The battle was fought over two weeks after the end of the War of 1812. Some of the finest troops in the world were mishandled by their commanders so badly they where defeated by a bunch of yokels, ill trained militia and the pirate Jean Lafitte's scum of the sea. Andrew Jackson got the credit for the victory.

It could be the Battle of New Orleans. Andrew Jackson defeated the British after the War of 1812 was already over, but he didn't get word until later.
