Good people, on the whole. Just remember that there are both good and bad people in every group. At least they're serious about trying to actively live out their religious principles, instead of just giving lip-service to their beliefs.

Wackos with a low crime rate. Wife-beating is quite common. Some good-looking Amish babes out there who know who to cook. The Amish babes have good genetics, sound nutrition, fresh air and exercise. The don't smoke or drink. They can go all night long.

Here is a test;

Does your religion teach you to tolerate others, no matter if they have religion, or not?

The Amish teach that. They understand that other people are not like them, and they do not have a problem with it.

Now, take Jehova's Witnesses. They believe THEIR religion is the ONLY religion that is right! They teach their people to go out, and TEACH all of us that OUR religions are wrong. And by the way, would you like a free brochure? When we try to talk to them, we are wasteing our time. They already know that they are right, we are wrong.

And THAT is a group of wacko's

Amish, in general, are good people that I, personally, think take isolation to an extreme. Like everyone else, each person is unique. We cannot classify all of any group as totally like the rest of the group.

I know some of these people, and they are the nicest people I have ever met. They are honest, hard working, and a little bit different from us, but they are far from wack-o's. My doctor is one of them, and if I get real sick he will come to my house if he has to. You can't find a doctor anywhere that will do that!! I can say nothing but good things about these people. They may be a little strange, but they are very good people. At least I think so!!

Depends.....

I say good people. They hurt no one but themselves. However, a religious person with differing views than theirs would call them wackos.

LOLOLOLOL
They probably wonder the same thing about you.
Don't get your knickers in a twist - I'm sure you're
a good person. In fact, I'm just as sure of that as
I'm sure that you're a wacko - most "good" folks
are wackos after all. A paradox. ;-)

Seems like the answers here would be much different if 5 of their children weren't just slaughtered. My sympathy goes out to them for that.

BUT......they're wackos. The won't use technology to make their lives easier. That's whacko!
