Certain answerers are "tired" of answering stupid questions. Yet I ask you if people continued in their ignorant state and not asked any questions then they just go through life in their ignorant state, never knowing anything. I think stupidity is relative, what do you think? On top of which, if they are so tired of answering stupid questions, walk away from the computer, or find another question to answer there are at least eleventy bazzillion on here!

Anything that doesn't make sense to the average person like you and me.

That is an interesting observation. I have seen many questions on here. Mostly what I consider stupid questions are really the nonsensical ones i.e. How far is far and I like cheese. Something like that has no reasonable outcome. There are others who ask basic questions for no other reason than to be asking. They remind me of a 15 year old kid at a family reunion. They want to get in on the conversations that they hear but really have nothing to contribute. They just say whatever they think sounds good (which usually doesn't) and hope for a little recognition. There are questions so specific that only three people on the planet can answer them (and they are not on Yahoo answers).

I guess stupid is as stupid does.

Some say a stupid question is one that has an obvious answer like 5+5. On the other hand, some people (ele. students) may not know that.

If you can gauge that they are being honest I'd say there is no stupid questions, but if you can tell that they are being stupid, then the question usually turns out the same way.

For me it's the ones that aren't questions: either they're just a phrase with a question mark at the end like "shoe store?" or they're an opinion that the person doesn't even want a response to.

here's a stupid question:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061003151822AA92paq&r=w&pa=FZptHWf.BGRX3OFMhD1cUZFdB7I9UswXiDX0PGDPO7pdqSPwPjXmOrBbXdRthoELTurW6frTdxSuNpcN_g--#RM0mCzO5UjMWG3jgVS2oW8iCt7Nc5p7YqSxIT8RzZ8kHQm3UndoP

the answer is obviously the results that this kid intends to use to cheat on their homework without having to lift a finger to do any work. It's stupid because the result is a kid who passes a class and still "don't know nothing." and yes, it gets tiring rehashing old stuff like this over and over again (especially when so many of em post the same question word for word and then say something stupid like "ten points to first right answer... NOT HOMEWORK!!!" as if it isn't obvious)
