If you want to make it like a grilled steak then broil at 425 deg. F and watch it carefully. If you want to try something a bit different, here is a trick that makes a tasty and complete meal. Take a cake pan and line it with aluminum foil. Place the steak / steaks in the pan after salt and pepper and/or other spices have been applied. Cut up chunks of potato and carrots to fill the remainder of the space in the pan. Place slices of onion and green pepper to garnish. Pour a package of onion soup into and mix with 2 cups of water and mix thoroughly - pour this mixture over the contents of the pan. Place an aluminum foil cover over the entire pan. Preheat the oven to 350 deg. F. Cook steak meal for one hour. Turn heat down to 250 deg. F and leave in the oven for at least another hour. After cooking allow to stand for at least 30 min. before opening to enjoy a wonderful meal. Add a salad for the complete meal. Cleanup is a snap too.

Serve with some wild rice and asparagus as the vegetable..

You want to GRILL it in the oven, meaning top heat only, using your BROIL setting and putting the rack with the steaks on it up high. It will only take about 5 minutes, then turn the steaks over and broil another 5 minutes.

I like to cook steak on the broiler pan under the broiler in my oven. I season it with salt, pepper, and garlic powder and flip it over when it is done on both sides. This way the grease drips into the broiler pan and the steak can get crispy.

If you don't have a broiler you can bake a good sized steak at the rate of fifteen minutes per pound at 350 for rare.
