Which is better/more true/teaches better values in your opinion - Western revealed faiths (Christianity, Islam, Judaism) or Eastern mysticism and thought (Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Taoism etc)?

Maybe I might have biased the question by its wording, but any skew towards eastern thought should be cancelled out by the overwhelming majority of christians on y!a.

Oh and if you want we can add a third category - western non-revealed beliefs (e.g. wicca, pagans, materialism, satanism, nihilism etc.)

Well, it's obviously eastern mysticism, but if you search beyond the mainstream 'abrahamic' faiths you might find that we have allot of truths in other more hidden western paths..

I was raised Christian but have found myself exploring many philosophies and have decided that there is no one religious with a monopoly on truth and values. There is are common threads that runs through all real religions which is where I think one should start rather than focus on the the differences between different belief systems. Maybe it takes an understanding of many different point of views to really discover the truth.

Much of Western Philosophy is independent of revealed religions.

I suspect the way you phrased your question skewed your result.

Eastern Philosophy teaches you to seek your own answers instead of being told what to believe.
