They are about as close as you can get.
The Catholic church has the pope as the head, the Anglican church has the queen (not the arch-bishop of Canterbury). Catholic priest can not marry, Anglicans can. Mary is deity to the Catholics but not to the Anglicans. Basically the Anglican church is the English Catholic church with the pope removed. They can never reconcile. A past pope publicly stated that a past queen of England was a heretic. Since it was a pope who said it-it becomes as scripture (to the Catholics only). So it can not be refuted or withdrawn because the pope is infallible and can make no error. The crown demands an apology before it can reconcile. the Vatican can not apologize because the pope speaks as God on earth, and to apologize would mean that God was wrong.
It is really stupid though, if you think about it. Why would the Anglican church need to reconcile with the Catholic church. They are both apostate-neither would be advanced by the move.

Basically - The Roman Church do not think we are real, so much to say that our Bread and Wine is not good enough. They believe that the Bread and Wine become the Blood and Body of Christ (Transubstantiation) and we understand the feast as a memorial.

RC and receive in Anglican churches (we let them, the Pope does not) but we are not permitted (unless there is no CofE church within a set amount of miles) to receive in theirs.

RC believe the Pope is infallible - we understand that the Archbishop can make mistakes.

There are scriptural differences: lots.
RC Masturbation = mortal sin
CofE Masturbation = OK

RC Homosexuals = Straight to hell no passing go
CofE Homosexuals = get given a dog collar

RC Purgatory = exists
CofE Purgatory = Nawh

What buggs me is when RCs come to Evensong at Canterbury Cathedral and moan about our doctrine and female canon (don't come if you don't like it).

Also the CofE is split into groups too.

AngloCatholic (High church) = Bells and Smells and stations of the Cross (Canterbury, Westminster, Knightsbridge)

Bog standard (Mid Church) = A cross, maybe reserve sacrament, no genuflecting.

Clappy (Low church) = Clapping and waving arms when singing, priests call Bob who play guitars, Asda's own bread and blackcurrant juice.

relies upon on how liberal the Anglican Church is. some are genuinely Catholic churches that enable divorce. it truly is what Henry the eighth needed at the same time as he depending the Anglican church. Others are better reminiscent of the Lutheran churches (Missouri senate) the position they striped out the saints and virgin Mary and allowed there pastors/clergymen to marry. And nonetheless others are better reminiscent of the quite a few later protestant churches.

The Pope is the physical head of the Catholic Church and the Anglican Churches physical head is the King or Queen of England. This is one major difference. There are others.

Catholics recognize the Pope, Anglicans recognize the King or Queen of England as the head of the church.

It is only a few minor differences that separate the two, IE marriage, used English instead of Latin long before the Catholics did.

They are very similar but the main difference is that the Anglican Church does not believe in the divine right of the Pope.

The choirboys are slightly less nervous in an Anglican church.

The schism between the two was political rather than religious. It was to do with the primacy of the King (in this case Henry VIII) or the Pope.

The main difference is that Catholics consider The Pope their leader, but Anglicans don´t. Actually, Anglicans call themselves Catholics.

This is a very complicated answer. You need to talk to people about this. One important difference is that Catholics place much more importance on Mary. They pray to her regularly. In the Church of England she is important because she was the mother of Jesus, but isn't as important as God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

There are many more differences for you to find out.
