Ok, she was my teacher in class, then we played eachother in slowpitch softball, and I wore camo pants, so an email she sent to me ended in "thanks, camo boy." Is that flirty? What should I do?

I was thinking about emailing back saying "Camo boy? Is that my new pet name?"

If it helps I'm not some 15 year old, I'm 24 and she is probably about the same. Dont' give me any of this students shouldn't date teachers business. I need to at least keep the mystique alive till the end of the semester.

I've graduate and am taking a few classes right now, she teaches. We both play slowpitch softball as a hobby.

If she is no longer your teacher-go for it. If she is still your teacher go very, very slow. She may just be a friendly person, so be careful of what you reply to her. You do not want to compromise your grades or progress nor do you want to embarrass her or yourself,

If she is still your teacher, she can't date you. To other students, it would look like preferential treatment.

At the end of the semester, you may ask about softball - or some other interest and strike up pleasant conversation. If things go well, you can ask her out. Situation will dictate whether or not she can.

As a teacher at a community college (and fairly young) I have been asked out by several students whom I politely declined. Not because they weren't great and interesting people, but (1) I'm in a relationship and (2) I teach in an area where I will likely have them in another class.

Well if I know teenage boys, and I do because I used to be one, the best thing for you to do is embarass or even humiliate them in front of the rest of the class. The best way to do this without losing your job is through wit, and seeing as you're in America throw in some sarcasm too. It's no good taking the 'stiff upper lip' approach and saying they're being disrespectful; how much do they know or care about respect? You need to tell them, in a subtle and witty but also clear way, that they are little boys that wouldn't know what to do with you and that you prefer real men. Also try and get the females in the classes on your side; that will really get to them.

She was either flirting, or being sarcastic. And since she said "camo boy", not camo man, it means that she thinks of you as a student, (boy, not a man) and nothing else. I am not calling you a boy, but that is what she said. But if you are attracted to each other, then go for it. You never know where you will meet the right one.

I will assume that you are in college being 24 and colleges have policies against dating students. Don't make a fool out of yourself and jeopradize her position, pal. Back off and stop playing games.

yeah that's a good ice breaker and inside jokes ALWAYS help women feel like they can call you their friends. chances are, if she gave you a name like that, she pays attention to you and wants to get to know you better. She just didn't know what to say to get a convo started. build on that and talk more!
