My BF and I have been together for 5mo now and I have no definate idea how he feels about me. I have never heard:
I'm happy with you
or
You make me happy
or
You'r pretty / sexy (well maybe a few times)
or
you turn me on
!!!!!NOTHING!!!!!
I can feel these things coming from him and his friends have told me that he "feels these things for me", and that "I am the best thing to ever happen to him". So why can he tell them how he feels and not me? I have tried talking to him about this saying that i need to hear stuff like that every once and a while but nothing has changed!?! I am not expecting to hear "I love you" or anything.
***FYI we are both in our mid 20's

Not a guy, but I can help. You should try asking him. No other way around it. Also, you should try asking yourself ....if after 5 months, you still have to wonder how he feels about you, what kind of relationship are you in?

maybe it has to do with the way he was raised. for example, if he grew up in a home where his father always opened the door for his mother and said nice things to her and treated her like any gentleman would, then he would learn to do the same with women. if he grew up in a home where he did not have a fatherly figure or if his parents were less expressive of their feelings then he will probably treat others that way. maybe he doesn't know what to say or he's just quieter and shyer than most. or maybe he fears he will say the wrong thing and mess things up. you never know. try asking him why he doesn't like to open up to people, instead of just telling him what you need to hear from him. he'll never understand you, nor will you understand him, if you don't find out how both of you feel and WHY you feel that way... it's all about communication.... of course, i can't claim to know much, i'm only 17... hope things work out for you...........

First things first. RELAX a little and take a couple of deep breaths. He is not saying these things because he probably hasn't felt whatever he feels for you towards anyone else before. Just ask him sometime, a little flirty-like even when you see him for a date, "Did you miss me?" or "Do you like my new shoes?" or whatever and leave it at that. No big production required.

Give him time. Maybe he isn't comfortable or ready to tell you yet. Or he doesn't want to get ahead of himself either. Wait a little while, but don't wait too long either.
