Satan ( aka) Lucifer. Was an angel of God.The most beautiful thing the bible describes. He was beautiful and the highest appointed angel I believe. However,He started to become full of himself, he started being envious, full of greed and hate.He wanted to then control things, and this caused problems in heaven, and so he was cast out of heaven with about a third of the angels that follwed him. When you see depections of satan being a man with horns and red eyes and what ever else these movie films produce that is not so.he was the most beautiful angel of all and he did not lose his beauty when he was cast out to the earth. However it is his sins and dark evil ways that are ugly. You must get your hands on the bible and get some more info into this.He origined in Heaven he was an Angel of God.

Satan was at first an angel of the Lord, i think his name was Lucifer. When God decided to create the universe, He made humans with a dual nature, bound by time (animals) and spiritual (not bound by time). Satan disagreed completely and tried to stop the Lord, and from here Satan split from God and became Satan.

Daniel K is on track with this one.
Satan and his followers were "fallen angels." Stripped of their abilities as angels as the defied God.

Also, there is NO HELL.
Hell was created in the 1800's when a man wrote a book of what he believed hell to look like. The book was very popular and it became "fact" over the years.
