Give her roses or chocolate or something like a poem or a song or something romantic. Or cook her dinner. Girls always like something romantic.

The best thing you can give a girl is attention and an ear. If she talks, you listen. As for gifts, find something that goes with her hobbies or things she likes. If you don't know what she likes, engage her in conversation to find out. Ask her.

It depends on the girl. Some like flowers, some like chocolate, some like jewelry. I like none of the above. I think it is all so generic anymore, unless the flowers are my favorite kind. Personally, I like a good book, or a cool game for my computer, a nice piece of art or dinner out at my favorite restaurant (yeah I know it sounds cheesy). It all really depends on her personality. Plus, if you skip the usuals and go for something that is really in her interests, she knows you're paying attention!

It really depends on what she personally likes. It also depends on the occasion..and from your question it seems like you're not dating so you shouldn't get something too extravagant or personal. Concert tickets maybe? Or, if you can't spend a lot of money...get her a CD and write a nice card. I think simple things are the best.
