Canidae, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul, Wellness, Innova, Blue Buffalo, Wysong, Percise, Premium Edge,Natural Balance, Nutro are some good quality foods.

Steer clear of foods such as IAMS/Eukanuba, Science Diet, etc they contain far to much fillers and by products.

Most Vetrinarians must say Science Diet, especially if you see it lining the walls in their office. No, it's not because they think it's good...It is marketing, these Gigantic Labs offer incentives to Vets who sell their stuff, plus equipment and bonuses.

I've triained quite a few dogs who's Handlers are Vets, even they don't feed their dogs SD.

Go with All Natural Dog Food, or cook your own, although physiologically, they need different protien and vitamins than us.

Innova is the best on the Market, followed by Wellness, then Natural Balance. There are so many to choose from. I tried several kinds until I settled on Innova, they liked it right off. I feed my older, retired K-9 Innova with Chondroitin for his joints. The puppy Innova is awesome.

My pups coats are awesomely shiny, great skin, bright eyes..healthy body and muscles, and that's what you want.

Good Luck finding what works for your baby.

Eukanuba is actually a high-end version of the Iams.

Flint River Ranch is really good, and they offer free shipping, but it's more expensive than Iams, Purina, etc. ($52.00 for a 40 lb bag.) Like I said, though, they ship it free. And if you're serious about getting high-quality pet food, it's worth it.

What do you think the wild dogs eat and grow and prosper on?

They do not eat Purina, Ekanuaba, Science Diet, etc., or other high priced gourmet diets, they eat MEAT, they gnaw on BONES, and drink lots of WATER. Animals in the wild would die eating the crap that they put out as food, it is all processed anyway and probably the same manufacturer that puts out Alpo puts out an expensive brand from the same plant. The advertisers sure have the American people sold that their PET needs special food, etc just to have that shiny coat, those nice nails, etc., geez just give them meat good old meat.

Royal Canin which both of my dogs are on now. Its the first food they and I have been happy with. They make breed specific which makes a great deal of sense since each breed is different. You can check out their website www.royalcanin.us. It is very informational and they also make a lot of veterinarian food. The list below are also real good foods that I have used, they are the all natural.
Candae
Wellness
Inova
Eagle Pak
They are good foods, but my dogs had some problems with a couple of them.

you know that is a good question. I have been searching all over the web for quality dog food. most vets would say Science Diet. don't know if they really believe that or if it's just for marketing.

I don't know what would qualify as "high quality" but I just settled for Canidae.

I took my dogs to the vet earlier today and she recommended something called Life's abundance, I looked at the website, and it seems like high quality stuff, I plan on ordering some to see if my picky dogs will eat it. (The get BARF 75% of the time IAMS the rest)

Here is good site that reviews dog foos by quality

I like to eat kebabs from my friend uncle Omar!

This larger than life "faux Turkish" character serves the highest quality dog based snacks any alcoholic would be pleased to drop all over the floor.

Once again, if it is dog-food that you're after try uncle Omar!!

Best thing you could ever do for your dog is feed it raw. there are lots of recipes on the Internet and if you don't want to make your own some commercially manufactured brands are urban carnivore, mountain dog and barf. They all have websites. hope this helps you
