This is a quote from a posting on this board by Jay

"To all you non believers, tell me how the alleged big bang came to be, you must all be insane thinking we are all here by chance. Its blindingly obvious we are part of a creation."

Let's turn it around, shall we?

To all you believers, tell me how the alleged creation came to be, you must all be insane thinking we are all here by purpose. Its blindingly obvious we are part of a big bang.

So, how did creation come about? Got any evidence that does not include pointing at a book?

look around you, look outside, what do you see? Look in the mirror. Now what other than God could create all that?

If you believe that you are part of the big bang and there is no purpose in life,
why do you ask questions? Nothing that could be said would be of any use. So why be interested in your origin? Just go for survival until you die.

If you are just an intelligent animal you are born, fight for survival, procreate and die - nature's recycling law.

On the other hand, if you do ask questions regarding your origin you must believe in some purpose for you being here.

What do you think is your purpose? What is the purpose for other people being here? What is the purpose of nature around you? What do you expect for your life? How will you live, and how should other people live?

To live our lives and to make sense of "living" it we need faith in "something".
We need a sense of doing "the right thing" in and with what we perceive is "our world", to be at peace with our own mind and "reality".

Since we ARE limited there are doubts, which interfere with our “peace of mind”. So we either do, or look up, “studies” - as in science - to confirm (or disprove) our beliefs, or we look for answers beyond science.

That’s where philosophies and religions come in to “teach” us what may be “the right thing” to believe and/or to do to achieve “perfection” (ultimate peace) for our “reality”.

We can then experiment by applying those teachings and judge by the results what is “right” or “wrong” for US to believe and/or to WANT to do.

Just imagine! If all "Christians", Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Sihks and Jews would willingly (not because they have been told) act out of compassion toward the "others" (as they were taught!) there truly would be peace on Earth!

We've tried hate and revenge (justice??) and we by now know it doesn't work. Why not try Compassion and forgiveness for a change?

We may find out that those teachings or not wrong and that there is intelligence far beyond what we can come up with.

As someone put it: To love is the answer - whatever the question.

Actually I do have evidence. The theory of a big bang is that nothing exploded into something, that in itself is stupid.
But let's go further, there is a scientific term ( I can't think of it though) but it explains what happens to all the debri that blow off of something when explodes. In essence everything that blows off spins in the same direction, look that up in any science book..
So if the big bang was true then all the planets would be rotating the same direction according to science, but 3 of the 9 planets actually rotate backwards. And that in itself defies all scientific explanation and the big bang. Now to cells do you know how complicated a cell has to be just to function properly? Do you know there are living creatures inside of cells that perform surgery on DNA strands and put them with other strands as is needed? Does that sound like some accident?
I have one for you, let's say we are all here by accident, then what does our life mean? Nothing, it stands for nothing, there is no purpose so why try to continue living a life? Let alone a good GOD filled life. It's funny everybody is always trying to disprove GOD and remove Him from the public eye. Yet the GOD that muslims follow who tells them to fly planes into buildings is openly accepted, I wonder why that is? I would rather choose a GOD who loves me enough to create me. Choose you this day whom you serve, as for me and my house we will serve the LORD.
oh and if you want anymore scientific on the big bang, or evoulution email me houseoffun5@yahoo.com
And I will be glad to give it to you.

Sanity/insanity is not determined by WHAT you believe, but rather, WHY you believe it.

If you believe something that happens to be true, but you arrived at that belief in a nonsensical fashion, your are still delusional. Likewise, if you believe something that happens to be false, but you arrived at that belief through reason, then you are not delusional.

Belief in god or in !god can be rational, or delusional. What matters is how you come to such a position.

Pointing to everything and says "miracles!" Now that's just silly and without adding any knowledge to the question at hand.

"I don't know" is a fine answer. Simple concept isn't it?

I believe the big bang theory. Where , however , did all that energy come from? From nothing by chance?
