Of course it is not bad luck.. It is an old time superstition like so many others.... one of the beliefs for this is that the site of a ladder leaning against a wall was once percieved to look like gallows. So walking under a ladder would mean you were acting out your own death which isn't a lucky thing to do.

There is no such thing as 'luck'. It's a quality ascribed to good or bad things that happen and which cannot be explained. However if you were to walk under a ladder there is a risk of something falling on you. If, of course, you walk around it and step in the road you could be killed by a car.

well it really is more like common sense. If you walk under a ladder it could possibly fall on you if you walk under it. Or if you walk under it and someone is on it you could possibly knock them down when the ladder falls.

i'd say so just incase someone's up it with a load of brick's or stoones imagen if one land's on your head when you walk under the lader,you wont be alive to read my answer so be very careful where you walk and when you walk use your brain's don't be so dum and brain dead asking sencless question's get real.

"Stupid" would be more accurate. Heaven only knows what you could end up having dumped on your head if someone up the ladder slips up.

i did it just to see when i was little and nothing happened.
maybe i need to walk under it while a black cat crosses my path as i drop the mirror because i was opening my umbrella on friday the 13th?
