Yes, after reading the bible, Satan seemed like a pretty cool guy that actually had some brains. He questioned God's autority because God did such a terrible job running the show. I would have done the same thing. The Old tesetament makes God out to be a selfish, cold, childish ruler and Satan is the guy that doesn't agree with him. It seems like God blames his mistakes and his children's miskates on Satan. Well, God is the creator of them all right? How can Satan be to blame? I guess that makes me a devil worshiper.

Lets see, God made everything according to those that believe in God, so therefore God made Satan. God knows everything, good, bad, future, present and past. If Everything was made and is known by God, Satan is nothing more than an extension of God, so Satan is God, and God is Satan. God is not more or less cruel than Satan, he is Satan. Logically speaking of course. But Religion isn't logical so why bother....

depends on who you define as "God" and who you define as "Satan".
If your god is Jachweh, then I would say anybody is nicer than that impostor.
Satan was invented by the church, basically to scare simple-minded rural Europeans into christianity. Their artificial creature Satan is a blend of Norse Loki (Lucifer), the greek Pan (inventor of the flute who still carries his name, a lyrist and poet) and the saxon (and also celtic) Green Man.
All these male aspects of deity have never been considered evil (well, Loki maybe a bit), and the newly created blended figure "Satan" is just too ridiculous to take serious.
Why not discuss Punch & Judy, or Kasperle & Seppl, or Laurel & Hardy, or any other created figures?

considering satan wouldn't exist or be cruel if god hadn't made him that way, god is the creator of all cruelty, and satan is just a manager, doing his job. Also, god loves all that he made, so he loves cruelty too--satan was forced into the position

there not being a god. its a moot point.
if as per your question you default the assumtion both are real then yes god is more cruel.
God punished lucifier. and hes still being punished. satan tried to tempt job... in a deal with god. god started that deal. other than that satan hasn't done much. read the bible for specific satan references. you won't find many. and not all devil mention is THE devi, but a devil.

I've always wondered: What if we've got the story wrong and Satan is really the good guy?
At least Satan never tortures anybody except Job, and then only with express permission from You-Know-Who.
