ok i hooked up my car system, but i only have a tape player in the car, and that is how i used to use the ipod. See, now i have a system with an amp and sub, is there anyway i can make the ipod work in my car without buying a cd player or the crapy fm tuner. if there isn't, how can i connect my ipod to my system inexpensively (so my sub would work with it), with a cd player? I have a 2000 ford taurus if that helps...

the best way is to replace the head unit with something that controlls the ipod. I just did one in my sisters car, a Alpine mp3 cd player with an ipod interface cable. All in all, it was around 300 with the cable. Check crutchfield.com, she bought last years model so it was on sale.

your only other choice would be to use Y adapters at the back of the deck and t-off the RCA Jacks to a headphone jack. This won't interface with the deck, but you can control the signal and loudness from the ipod. Use the deck to turn on the amps, but turn the volume all the way down so the deck doesn't send a signal. The ipod will send the only audio source so your amps should play what ever the ipod is giving out.

Alpine in simple terms released, for 2008, an iPod administration for well-known headunits. It connects to the stereo itself, and works a lot extra perfect than the FM transmitters...it can also grant bluetooth, even with the indisputable fact that that's about $2 hundred.00 look into their internet website for extra information
