Hello!! :o) As far as I know - no where in the Bible does GOD tell us to praise Him. It was MAN who saw first hand what God did for us [and continues to DO for us] that tell us that God is worthy of our praise. That's a big difference. I also believe that praising God helps to keep us focused ON God. But I understand your question. I've often wondered the same thing. Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

Let's assume that God exists. It doesn't seem to say much for his self esteem. If we are made in his image, and can project from that, it would suggest he was feeling a bit insecure. This is not a flippant answer, I've spent years pondering this and other apparent contradictions.

It's funny you should ask this today. I have not been able to stop praising Him all day. I'm not like that everyday but this day has just been amazing. I've actually been in tears several times thinking about how wonderful He is.
He doesn't NEED to be praised. But, he enjoys being praised. Kind of like you might enjoy being praised by your children for doing something special for them. Well He did the most special thing anyone could ever do for us so therefore he is WORTHY of praise and I love giving it to Him
Oh and I just love Him and could just shout it to the world....Thank You Jesus!!!!! Your love is amazing!!!!

He needs nothing from us at all. If He received no praise from us He would not in the least be less Glorious. It is to our good that we praise because He is most worthy of our praise. Need it? No Deserve it Yes. We are the ones who loose if we neglect this opportunity. It is a special privilege to praise Him and He does not accept praise from just anybody.

If you look at the answers below you will see why christians feel the need ot praise their god so much. One person says that "without god your life is meaningless".

That single statement is why all of the peverse religions fill this world. Religions are merely to help weak minded individuals feel that there is meaning in their life.

Knowledge is power. Blind faith is not.

It's a response that's inspired not required. When we come into contact with God's glory, it's like a knee-jerk reaction. We can't help but praise Him!!!

We praise God because he is good and we sin almost every minute of our lives...and we need to be forgeven...because God will forgive us and forgive us a million times...because he loves us and we want to be as close to him as possible...we praise him out of joy for what he is sharing with us...

He loved us so much, He gave His only begotten Son, to die on the cross for your and my sins. He did this so we could have everlasting life, and a relationship with Him.

Else, we are doomed to a sinners hell.

I find that is quite a bit to praise Him for!
