I dont know wut grade u r in, but I took it at my hs career center my junior and senior yrs. I got my license b4 graduation and went to work in salon a week later. We had to learn about bone structure of the head, diseases of the skin and nails, alot of technical stuff, take courses if available in those areas and when u go to beauty school u will have some knowledge already. also chemistry classes would prob be helpful. choose a beauty college carefully, the local one here did not help much, I could see a big difference in graduates from there versus where I learned from, the bigger more well known schools offer more like nail tech and skin care. Good luck, I have been doin it for 25 yrs and I love it!

Sorry, high school is for the basis of you going to college any college. In order to become a Cosmetologist, u will have to go to Cosmetology College or School after u graduate. Why? Because u will need to get certified by that state in order to work at a reputable Beauty Shop or Salon. If u plan to open your own Shop or Salon one day, u may want to learn about business/accounting. Because u will have to deal with this either way of making money for yourself or making money for yourself and a business owner. Good luck with both.
