What proof is there of God?

Look around you or your alive isnt proof at all. And quotes from the Bible doesent get you anywhere either.

Numbers, my friend.

The following things all happened to make this planet as it is today. As a VERY conservartive estimate, let's say that the chances of each happening are 1 in 10,000. (Most are actually in the millions)

A star explodes in a supernova, blasting the fundamental elements that make up everything on earth in infinite directions.

A signifigant enough amount of these molecules settle into orbit around our sun.

Instead of spiriling into the sun, they stay in orbit at the precise distance from our sun to support life.

Instead of staying a dust cloud, they combine into our vaguely spherical earth.

The sun heats our rock to the point where it's surface is a shifitng, protean oozefest.

The first primordal lifeform comes into being, a single cell. (This is not a matter of chance. We don't know how it happened.)

The cell lives long enough to multiply.

The multiple cell cultures adapt to the world around them, evolving into more complex life forms.

The complex life forms evolve into fish, then reptiles, then eventually mammals.

Then, for absolutly no reason whatsoever, with no real need to develop the skill for survival, and no real prompting, the simean strain of mammal gains the cognitive capacity for self-awareness. I repeat. For no reason. What is so hard about the life of a monkey that it would ever need to start thinking like us? Scientifically, there is no excuse for our mind's development.

So, what do we have? Statistically, the chance that two things that are one in a hundred will happen is one in a hundred times one in a hundred, or one in 10,000. So, we have 10 extremely unlikely things all actually happening. One in 10000 to the 10th power.

Not impossible, no. Not proof, no. There never will be proof, because if there is a God, no group of fallible mortals would ever be able to actually understand Him (or Her) and the ones that claim to would be grandois liars. But, I don't like to think that we are the results of some exponentially lucky cosmic winning streak.

People don't belive in God because its logical or especially intelligent. it's because it gives them an incentive to be good, decent, considerate people and the alternative is... I dunno. Kinda cold.

Hello!! :o) To a man who chooses NOT to believe in God [or who refuses to accept the possibility of there being a God] there IS no proof. For such a man is blind and can not see. But I promise you - as I promise everyone else - you are responsible for what you choose to believe. Man's inability to convince YOU of God's existence - will not be considered an excuse before God. Quotes from the bible don't get you anywhere? Really? The bible has a verse that says all of creation speaks of God's existence that no man has excuse.

Think carefully about that sentence. I am not the one worried about "getting somewhere"...I already know where I'm going!

As you can see from your answers already christians never will have proof of their god. Even below, people still try to claim looking ta the world around you shows proof.

Even when someone says that they have felt the power of god, or he helped htem through troubling times, the problem is that these are not measurable facts.

I could easily say that god helped me when I was about to commit suicide. He sent someone to my house to talk sense into me. The fatc is, yes, someone talked me out of it. But, by attributing it to god that does not explain how it happened. The fact is that someone saw a human in trouble and wanted to help. My saying that an invisible, supernatural force was at work has no basis for fact.

Even then when a religious person claims to pray and feel the spirit, whta they are feeling is internal. The human mind is a powerful tool, and people say the hand is quicker than the eye for good reason. The eye sees what it wants to see, just like our minds often believe what we want them to believe. So, of course the zealot will view it as god's work, when in fact there were other factors altogether.


Bible thumpers will never prove their desert god exists. Now they have the nerve to poke at religions of the past and act condescending about their beliefs. In a few hundred years all of my atheist brothers will laugh even harder at christianity.

Knowledge is power. Blind faith is not.

Look at yourself in the mirror, there is the proof. We are God's creation. Look at your eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. Aren't you amazed how every part of your body works together like an unit??
Aren't you amazed how beatiful the sky or the earth is or how deadly a storm can be?? Just use science to proof the existence of God, because it works.

I can only give you MY PROOF . My proof is I am alive. He lives in me. He saved me. I Don't believe you can prove him without his word.Furthermore I think he wants you to believe without seeing.
