An opaque projector.
The light souce comes from overhead but it is NOT called an overhead projector.
Instead of the light going through the medium, the medium is lighted from above and a mirror reflects the image onto a double convex lens.

There is no such thing...

There are projectors for displaying transparencies, and there are projectors for displaying electronic presentations...All of the above are called overhead projectors (or simply projectors).

These all require that light project the image, and the paper acts to stop the light...So, you can't project thru paper.

my school has them. you pair a document camera(my school uses avermedia) with a projector and you can use regular paper like an overhead
