We all have our personal preferences. Although I'm sure alot of people on here will disagree with me, I think it's normal and not too shallow.

First of all, if you recognize that a person is ugly...your shallow. How about the fact that they are human? Can you be willing to get to know someone and then decide if you want to date them? Not everyone is perfect and if you aren't willing to get to know people before you pass judgement on them....your only cheating yourself. Make the decision to befriend someone, you won't be sorry. Good Luck.

No matter what one says--judging another person on their looks is ALWAYS shallow. Sometimes people do need to run into the right person to get the power to change their appearance. If you get married with a slim woman and then leave her because she has gained weight after 2 or 3 children---isn't that shallow? You still love the woman she is, right????

The whole statement is shallow...(See the movie "Shallow Hal")

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and some people may be fat but you're "ugly" on the inside, and they can diet.

I wouldn't date someone who I thought was ugly or fat. If you're not attracted to them you're not attracted to them. What are you going to do F**k a fat one armed troll to show you have depth of character? That maybe shallow but at least it's honest.

I would wonder if an overweight person would be compatible with me. I like to be active and keep fit and healthy. A heavy person who has no interest in those things would not be a good match for me. The same goes for smokers.
As for ugly-- well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Ugly is as ugly does.

No, it's a choice. Attraction is different for everyone. Maybe the fat one isn't as nice a person. Why are fat and ugly the only descriptors?

Dating based solely on appearance at all is shallow.

Making a choice is not alone a sign of being shallow.
