Friend, do us a favour. Retreat to your BNP meeting, with the other members (yes, all 6 of them). Im not even going to discuss this with you, as your so clearly ignorant towards the whoel thign as it is.

Vive La Europa :P

NB
Ok, i've got to talk. Theirs so much ignorance here towards how the EU works, where did you people pick it up?

Firstly, the EU does not 'Dictate' to us, we are part of the Governing Body, we play an equal part in the law creation in the Union. It could be said that we infact dictate to others, but i doubt you'll see it like that.

The Union has brought about hte longest years of peace in our entire history, isn't that n achievement to be proud of? The Union has enabled to grow closer togetehr as a group of nations and to work together to combat the worlds troubles.

We're not a Great power anymore people, we have no empire and our nation is very limited in its military scale of operations. If we work in conjunction with the European nations, we form a Super-Power of states that can fight our corner in the worl, somethign an Isolated UK couldn't do

I find this interesting.
Has it occurred to anyone that what we are seeing in the birth of the EU in some ways resembles the formation of the United States? It began with a loose alliance, evolved into a central government that was weaker than the local government of the individual states until the US Civil War, and then became a powerful central government with the states handling lesser and more localized functions.
Can the pages of American History show us what is to come for the EU? Let's hope that they will avoid a civil war.

Ahhh, the European Union. You, my friend, seem to have a misconception of what is actually going on with that. The EU doesn't dictate what individual countries can do, they make the suggestion, and if the country doesn't want to participate, they don't. (Why do you think that England still has the Pound, and not the Euro like everyone else).

My suggestion, get over it. You will all be part of the USA sooner or later. *L*

I think you are forgetting that it was Conservative governments who have always been most enthusiastic about tying the UK closer to Europe.
Edward Heath took us into Europe and Thatcher and Major completed the job by signing all the most important treaties.
It is interesting that the rest of Europe was opposed to the war against Iraq but Blair side with the Americans.

You did.
If your over 18 and eligiable to vote then your part of the reason. If you don't like what you see start a political party or leave.
The army is reasponsible to the will of the people. The populce of the uk has to answer the question not the army and the army should not force the issue. Its got enough to deal with, with overstretch etc.

Yes. We've been sleep walked into government by Europe. I think our political class bored us into it. They got away with it because we don't have a written constitution and as such we don't really have any rights we can call inalienable in the UK. That includes the right to be governed by our national laws and not the laws laid down by the European Parliament. Public apathy and ignorance on this has been our downfall.

As far as that goes, Any government after Blair can repeal his legislation, and as in fact the European Union is only as strong as the desire of it's member countries to keep it going.

The EU does, sadly, have powers within the UK but not too much that they can dictate to us what we should and shouldn't be doing. Hopefully, we'll eventually find a way to get out the EU before they ruin the country though.

I say let the U.K. do what it wants. My god Europe isn't a whole country it's made up of lots of little ones, so they dictate what the U.K. can and cannot do. Peace to the British! God Bless You All! Thanks for helping with the War On Terror!
