Immaculate Conception

The Immaculate Conception is a Catholic dogma that asserts that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was preserved by God from the stain of original sin at the time of her own conception.

The the Book of Luke, an angel appeared to Mary and told her that the Spirit of the Most High God would over shadow her and she would bear a son who would be the savior of the world. At the time the angel appeared to Mary she was a virgin, having had no relations with a man. Therefore it was an immaculate conception. Joseph of Nazareth was Jesus' earthly father, but God was Jesus' real father.

The Immaculate Conception is the conception of Mary within her Mother's womb. The benefits afforded by our Lords suffering and death were attached to Mary before she was born so the Lord would have a Mother free of sin. At Lourds France when St Bernadette saw the Blessed Virgin she told Bernadette when she asked her her name, because the Bishop told her to, she said "I am the Immaculate Conception". Bernadette was just a simple peasant girl and had never heard this term before so when she told the Bishop it just added to his chagrine.

Gee I see there are alot of people here who know alot for being sooo dumb.

The Immaculate Conception is the belief that Jesus wasn't conceived by Mary and Joseph but by something higher and its thought to be God - so Mary was supposedly a virgin when she conceived - and as for Joseph I dont know.

If you mean Immaculat Conception then it's the Catholic belief that God kept Mary free from sin from the moment of her own conception so that she could give birth to God's son who was free from sin. Im not sure why they felt they needed to take God's purity from sin to this degree because it's not like God actually impregnated Mary so that Jesus had have Mary chromosomes and half of God's. Jesus was both fully God and fully man. So I don't see the problem with Mary being born of sin like the rest of us. She was simply a vessel.
