1. Know what you can compromise on, and which things are important enough to be "your way or no way". This may seem the exact opposite of what being the ideal girlfriend means, but in truth most guys who are actually wanting a relationship want an equal partner - not a doormat. Doormats tend to get brushed off as "too clingy".

2. Be willing to revise this list once in a while. Ideally, most of this revision will be done in between relationships as you reflect on what you learned from the last guy - if you're doing too much revision inside the relationship, that's a danger sign of your giving up your own well-being for someone else's sake, and becoming the dreaded doormat.

3. Don't be afraid to walk away from a relationship if you feel it is not meeting your needs. Again, this may seem counterintuitive, but you can't be an ideal girlfriend if you're miserable.

4. Don't resent a guy who walks away from a relationship because you are not meeting his needs, especially if that's being caused by your adherence to #1.

5. Continue to maintain your connections with your other friends. Isolating yourself with him puts undue burden on him to be responsible for your happiness.

6. Don't resent your guy for wanting to hang out with his friends instead of you once in a while. Ideal partners know the importance of time away from each other.

7. Don't give your word lightly. If you say you will call him when you get home, then do so. And if you forget, make sure the first words out of your mouth next time you call or see him are "I'm sorry I forgot to call you when I said I would." Trusting each other is a big step toward making a relationship work for the long haul.

and why would you ask other people? its up to you...be who you are and nothing more. extend his expectations in other girls, if any in the future, by doing everything 10 times better than he'd expect. be there for him when he needs you, give him space when he needs it...dont call ALL THE TIME! remember he wants a friend just as much as he wants a mate...

Be being yourself first and far most. Then be understanding, loving and patient with your Man. Communication is key and by that i mean to listen to what the other person is saying wihtout thinking about what you're going to answer when he's done, doing that takes a lot of love and self control.. only with the ones that are worth it though....
